Small grants for volunteer-involving organisations

The Australian Government Department of Social Services has announced funding for volunteer-involving organisations through its ‘Strong and Resilient Communities Activity - Community Support’ grants program.

Small volunteer-involving organisations will be able to apply for small grants of between $10,000 to $20,000) for one-off, time-limited projects that support vulnerable and disadvantaged people. The aims is to strengthen volunteering through capability and capacity building within organisations to uplift volunteer capability, including volunteer knowledge, skills and volunteer numbers.

The grant is targeted at grassroots organisations that have:

  • a workforce of 40% or more volunteers
  • an annual income of below $500,000, and
  • support one or more of the identified priority groups.

How to apply

  • Expressions of interest close at 4pm on Friday 4 October 2024.
  • Following a review process, eligible organisations will be contacted and invited to submit an application through their State or Territory volunteering peak body.
