Share the Dignity
Published on 18 February 2025
Share the Dignity is a women's charity that works to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They help those in need by collecting hundreds of thousands of period products each year through collection drives and campaigns. These products are distributed directly to charities across Australia to women, girls, and anyone who menstruates who needs support.
They also work on advocacy and were instrumental in helping to axe the tampon tax in 2018. They are now focussed on ensuring all public hospitals offer free sanitary items to those who need them and, to date, they have received more than 5 million products as a result of 'dignity drives'.
How you can help
Next time you're out shopping, add some sanitary products to your trolley and drop them off in the 'Share the Dignity' box, located inside the Hamra Centre Library, 1 Brooker Terrace, Hilton. Donations of pads, tampons, menstrual cups, reusable pads, period undies and even incontinence aids will be gratefully received.
