Grants for rainwater tanks and climate resilience

As the weather heats up, it's the perfect time to think about how you can make your home water-smart, sustainable and climate resilient. Council can help you do this with a range of rebates.

Rebates for rainwater tanks and rain gardens

By installing a rainwater tank, you can capture and store the valuable water we receive during rainy periods, setting you up for dry spells in summer and autumn. In the long term, harvesting rainwater can also help you save money on your water bill. Meanwhile, rain gardens are a clever way to direct rainfall into specially designed garden beds.

Climate resilience rebates

We are proud to introduce our new climate resilient living rebate program, designed to help residents create more sustainable and climate-resilient homes. This program includes:

• Home energy assessments: a rebate of up to $200 towards the cost of a residential efficiency scorecard assessment by an accredited practitioner to rate your home's energy use and identify improvements.

• Window treatments: a rebate of up to $200 towards the cost of installing window treatments to enhance the thermal performance of your home, including double glazing, tinting or external sunshades. 

• Appliance electrification: a rebate of up to $250 towards the cost of replacing gas appliances with electric or solar powered appliances to reduce emissions, energy and running costs.

• E-bikes/E-cargo bikes: a rebate of up to $400 towards the cost of an E-bike or E-cargo bike for commuting purposes. Successful applicants can only receive this rebate once over the life of the program.
