Join the West Torrens Library Service and National Archives of Australia (NAA) to learn a little bit more about the history of banned books in Australia in celebration of this years Banned Book Week (September 22-28).

‘The butcher’, ‘The spy who loved me’ and ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’. What do these books all have in common? They were banned!

Unlock the secrets of Australia’s literary history where we journey back to the 20th century and delve into the intriguing world of literary censorship.

Join us for a thought-provoking look at records in the national archival collection about books that were censored and deemed unsuitable for the general population at the time.
