Seasonal Art Walks with Donna – Autumn

Join local artist, Donna Gordge, on a morning of creative exploration whilst taking in the stunning natural setting of Breakout Creek / Purruna Pari in West Beach area.

Each session will include a range of different activities related to creative exploration and movement through this particular space, for example, drawing with found materials, taking field notes, mark making as you walk, and inventing stories about found objects.

• Please note, this will definitely not be walking for fitness - we will stop often and for various lengths of time to take in our surroundings.
• Participants of any skill level are welcome and creative beginners are particularly encouraged. This will be a supportive environment to try something new.
• *The main paths in the area we will be walking are accessible to wheelchairs.

WHEN:

Saturday 5 April – 9.30am - 11.30am

WHERE:

We will meet at Apex Park, 616 Burbridge Rd, West Beach, by the bird sculptures in the pond, and wander along Breakout Creek linear park.

There are accessible toilets at Apex Park, and drinking water along the way.

WHY:

There is a great deal of research now which tells us that well and happy humans have creative, social and nature-based activities in their day-to-day lives. These sessions encourage people to come together and enjoy the gorgeous environment around Breakout Creek, and to get involved in some creative activities they may not have tried before. 

*Interested participants will be encouraged to form their own regular group. Some resources, in the form of journalling prompts, can be provided to assist with this.

**Artwork produced during the sessions (and/or images of work) may be exhibited in the West Torrens Auditorium Gallery.

***Participants are asked to bring their own sketchbook (spiral bound, ideally), hat, sunscreen and water - all other materials will be provided.
