The Local Government Act requires councils to develop management plans for all community land and to maintain a Community Land Register.

While categories for community land are not specifically defined in the Act, it includes areas set aside for public use or conservation purposes, such as reserves and recreation and sporting facilities.

Current plans

Council has three Community Land Management Plans:

  • Reserves and Sporting Grounds
  • Drainage Lands
  • Community and Commercial Facilities.

More information

From time to time parcels of land may be gifted to Council.

When this occurs, these are added to the Community Land Register and incorporated under an appropriate management plan.
