Community Group Award 2024
Airport Over 50s Club

The Club came to fruition at the suggestion of then Airport Ward Councillor, the late Garth Palmer who noted that other wards within West Torrens had established senior citizen clubs in their areas however the Airport Ward was lacking in facilities for its citizens.  While it took some years, Cr Palmer finally achieved what he set out to do and a new senior citizens club was built at its current Coral Sea Road site.

Providing seniors with an opportunity to connect in a meaningful way, the Club is fully self-funded via its membership, which is open to all senior residents in West Torrens and immediate surrounds. The Club boasts a current membership of around 350 and provides a range of activities that focus on health and wellbeing.
