The late Bill Gonis OAM was the President of the Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia for many years (since 2015). Known as a generous and selfless man and an exemplary leader with vision, he worked tirelessly for the Hellenic community and to promote a multicultural Australia. Bill played a vital role in mobilising the Greek-Australian community to help Greece in the aftermath of a deadly fire in 2018 by helping to establish a community relief fund with the Bank of Sydney and Delphi Bank.
