For a number of years now the Bay to Birdwood has started its drive into the Adelaide Hills from Barratt Reserve, West Beach.

One of the most recognised events in the South Australian motoring calendar, the Bay to Birdwood attracts tens of thousands of spectators each year who line the route from West Beach to Birdwood to see a variety of classic cars and wave them on their journey.

Mike Beresford, a Torrensville resident, has been involved with the organisation of this mammoth event for around 20 years and has a vision to transform it from a single day event to a multi-day festival during the next decade.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions being in place in 2020, the Bay to Birdwood was still staged and drew thousands of views, only the event was livestreamed to help ensure public safety.
